Fruit infused water

23/06/2016 By Margarita

Tasty-Mediterraneo-fruits-infused-waterSummer has arrived! I love it when the days get longer and warmer.
We tend to spend more time outside during summer and thus we are more exposed to the sun, yes even in Ireland!

Tasty-Mediterraneo-fruit-infused-waterDuring summer we have to drink more to stay properly hydrated.
Dehydration makes blood thicker & forces the heart to pump harder. That is why it is important to avoid starting exercise when dehydrated.
Fluid loss can cause an electrolyte imbalance. Electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium & calcium) are vital for proper muscle contraction and to avoid cramping. When you are training the best is to drink water regularly during the day.

Tasty-Mediterraneo-infused-watersWater is always the best option for staying hydrated. There are other drinks that can also help to stay hydrated but most of them have added sugars and this means extra unnecessary calories.
If it is difficult for you to drink plain water I invite you to try these fruit infused water recipes, they are tasty, easy, refreshing and super hydrating. The most simple and tasty way to stay hydrated during summer!

Tasty-Mediterraneo-agua-aromatizadaIf you try these healthy fruit infused water recipes, please let me know, leave a comment and rate it. I would love to know what you come up with. Enjoy!

Loving it! I used to get fruit or sometime vegetable infused water at receptions or in hotels. Never thought of making it at home until I saw your recipe :))))) Great idea especially for a summer in NYC!
